Richard Pu, Esq.

The American Franchisee Association (AFA) is proud to welcome Richard Pu as our newest Affiliate Member. Richard is a seasoned litigator in both commercial and franchise law, having successfully represented clients in litigation with franchisors, lenders, and in partnership disputes. He is thoroughly experienced in franchise legal research including UFOC (Uniform Franchise Offering Circular) reviews for prospective franchisees. Mr. Pu was formerly associated with Davis Polk & Wardwell (1977-1983) (on leave of absence, 1978-1979), practicing in that firm’s Litigation Department. Mr. Pu also served as a Law Clerk to the Hon. Lloyd F. MacMahon, U.S. District Judge, Southern District of New York (1978-79). Mr. Pu was born in Hong Kong on August 4, 1950. He was admitted to the New York State bar in 1978, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern District of New York and Eastern District of New York in 1983. Mr. Pu was also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals, Second Circuit in 1987, and the United States Supreme Court in 2000. Mr. Pu graduated cum laude from Harvard College in 1972. He received his Juris Doctor Degree from New York University School of Law in 1977, where he was a member of the New York University Law Review (1976-1977). Contact Richard Pu at:
