The American Franchisee Association (AFA) welcomes Jeff Goldstein as our newest affiliate member.  Jeff is the founding partner of The Goldstein Law Group (GLG) which focuses primarily on franchise law and commercial litigation. 

The Goldstein Law Group is known for taking an aggressive stance in representing franchisees on a myriad of legal issues including encroachment, monetary defaults, quality assurance defaults, sale and transfer of franchises and wrongful termination.

In the last several years, Jeff has won ground breaking court victories for his clients.  These have included a California court striking down a franchisor’s unfair mandatory arbitration clause in a real estate franchise agreement when the franchisee raised encroachment issues.  In another case, the U.S. District Court for the district of Arizona rejected the franchisor’s argument based on breach of contract when it alleged that a franchisee of 25 years had erected signs that didn’t conform to corporate standards.

Prior to founding The Goldstein Law Group, Jeff practiced with Skadden, Arps, Meagher & Flom and Morgan, Lewis & Bockius.  He also served as the assistant to the Deputy Director at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), where he litigated antitrust and unfair trade practice cases.
